Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about choosing, installing, and enjoying your sauna.
Ordering & Shipping
How long does shipping take?
Most saunas ship within 5-7 business days. Standard delivery takes 15-30 business days depending on your location. Expedited shipping options are available at checkout for faster delivery (as quick as 10-15 business days).
Is shipping really free?
Yes — we offer free standard curbside shipping on all saunas to the continental US and Canada. For white glove delivery (inside your home, to the room of your choice), there is a $500 flat fee.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently we ship to the United States and Canada. We're working on expanding to additional countries. Contact us for international inquiries.
Can I track my order?
Absolutely. Once your sauna ships, you'll receive tracking information via email. You can also check your order status anytime by contacting our support team.
Installation & Setup
Do I need professional installation?
Most of our saunas are designed for easy DIY assembly with 2 people in 1-3 hours. They come with detailed instructions and all necessary hardware. However, we offer professional installation for $4,000 anywhere in the US and Canada for those who prefer a hands-off experience.
What electrical requirements do saunas need?
Portable and smaller infrared saunas typically plug into a standard 120V/15A outlet. Larger saunas (4+ person) may require a dedicated 240V/30A circuit. Check each product's specifications for exact requirements. We recommend having a licensed electrician verify your setup.
How much space do I need?
Space requirements vary by model. A 1-2 person sauna typically needs about 4'x4' of floor space with at least 6" clearance on all sides. Larger models need 5'x6' or more. All dimensions are listed on each product page.
Can I put a sauna in my apartment or condo?
Many of our portable and smaller infrared saunas are apartment-friendly — they run on standard outlets and don't require permanent installation. Check with your building management regarding any restrictions.
Do saunas need ventilation?
Infrared saunas produce dry heat and generally don't require special ventilation — a room with normal airflow is sufficient. Steam saunas may benefit from nearby ventilation or a dehumidifier. Each product page includes specific ventilation recommendations.
Health & Wellness
What are the health benefits of using a sauna?
Regular sauna use has been clinically associated with improved cardiovascular health, reduced inflammation, enhanced muscle recovery, better sleep quality, stress reduction, and improved skin health. Infrared saunas specifically penetrate deeper into tissue for more targeted therapeutic benefits.
How often should I use my sauna?
Most people benefit from 3-4 sessions per week, 20-40 minutes per session. Start with shorter sessions (15-20 minutes) and gradually increase as your body acclimates. Always stay hydrated and listen to your body.
Are there any medical contraindications?
Sauna use is generally safe for healthy adults. However, if you're pregnant, have cardiovascular conditions, or take medications that affect blood pressure or heart rate, consult your doctor before use. Children should always be supervised.
What's the difference between infrared and traditional steam saunas?
Traditional steam saunas heat the air to 150-195°F, creating a hot, humid environment. Infrared saunas use infrared light to directly heat your body at lower air temperatures (120-150°F), which many find more comfortable. Both offer health benefits, but infrared saunas are more energy-efficient and easier to install.
Maintenance & Care
How do I maintain my sauna?
Saunas are low-maintenance. Wipe down benches after use, leave the door open briefly to air dry, and clean the interior monthly with a mild, non-toxic cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals. For wood care, you can apply a food-safe wood treatment annually.
How much does it cost to operate a sauna?
Infrared saunas are very energy-efficient — a typical session costs $0.20-$0.50 in electricity. Even with daily use, most owners see less than $15/month added to their electric bill. Traditional steam saunas cost slightly more to operate.
How long do saunas last?
With proper care, a quality sauna lasts 15-20+ years. The heating elements typically last 5,000-10,000 hours of use. All our saunas are covered by the Orivon Wellness manufacturer warranty.
